Engine mounts

Need some help…. I am new to this and never done an engine swap before. Removed the 400 and putting in this 460. The mounts are from JBG and I am having a hard time getting the engine to sit flush. Any tips would be appreciated. The first pics are before the engine is completely lowered and and the second are completely lowered. Thanks!

I really can't see it very well in those pictures. is there a rubber insulator or are these solids? something doesn't look right.

Are you really sure you want solids? that's high performance race car stuff.

I'm not sure you're going to get a perfect fit on solids, especially aftermarket ones made for an application that was never stock. it may take some tweaking on your end.

you might consider the Advanced adapters mounts.

To be honest, when purchasing the mounts I was just getting what others have bought after researching everything that I needed for the swap. I wouldn’t say the engine going in it as high performance but heads have been worked and has a 514 stroker kit. Not sure if why the mounts were recommended but I guess I am going to do some modifications to them. Appreciate you responding

As fas as the solid mounts, you are talking about these right? https://shop.broncograveyard.com/197...saAllaEALw_wcB

Are you still using the original motor (400) stands... AKA perches? You might have to swap over to these?
https://shop.broncograveyard.com/Mot...uctinfo/20523/

Did your research say you could use the solid motor mounts with your original 400 stands?

I just recall needing different mounts and nothing about different perches or anything of that nature. I purchased l&l headers and remember their mounts had issues so I went with JBG. I didn’t really look into about solid mounts but will read up on the attached articles. Thank you for sending them my way

I would buy some rubber mounts, there's a reason everything uses them.

You shouldn't need new perches the good aftermarket mounts are made to use the existing ones. I did my first 385 serries conversion in the early 80's. at that time we used 390 GT mounts and turned them sideways. they worked just fine and I put a new set in last year when I rebuilt the 429 in it.

I seem to sort of remember that you can use the same 351M/400 towers/perches for a 460 swap in. You just have to mod the motor mounts (bolt?) or some thing like that.

Here is a good old read with swap info. https://www.projectbronco.com/

I recall a friend using solid mounts, lost coolant when a chunk of block broke loose around the mount area. Was a BBC in a Camaro.
