How much money would they have to pay you, before you say yes? I can't imagine how going to another country, to kill their leader or overthrow the government, is a good idea. Just imagine if someone tried doing that in The USA.

Looks good. My roommate is cooking ribs for dinner tonight.
Took the truck to Pep Boys, and they fixed the AC. Only cost me $88.89. The total bill was around $500. There was a leaking O-ring, so they replaced it, and it works now. Of course, the heatwave is over, but God willing, it will last through next summer with no issues.

Will, you knocked the pepper steak out of the park. That looks great.

Jim, aren't will glad that you didn't buy a couple of cans of that AC refrigerant?

The refrigerant alone cost more than what I paid them. Now I just need a good heatwave to test it on.

Knowing the Central Valleys, give it a week or two!

We are under flash flood warnings up here until about 10:00 PM.

LOL so true. As a matter of fact, temps are predicted to creep up to just under 100 next week. so, I can test it then.

I woke up this morning to rain. Did an earthquake happen, and Fresno moved north to the rain belt? I got a job working security (volunteer of course, as I have not had a guard card in over 25 years) for Seqouia Learning school that rents out quite a few of the rooms at my church on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The lady in charge said they "almost had an incident" and would like an "extra set of eyes" the next two or three days. I said yes, as I do the exact same thing at the church every Wednesday night, and most Sundays. So, of course it rains on my first day. It has stopped now, but the forecast for today is rain between 10am and 1pm. So, I will take my umbrelli, and cover the electronics with a Walmart bag (got to put that 10-cent bag to good use you know) and go out and "be seen" which is of course, a security officers' number one deterrent. Be seen enough to make people think twice about doing whatever it is they were going to do.

From doing my own oil changes, I learned that a "long" wrench with just a little bit more leverage, makes all the difference. Drain plugs which felt tight, came right off.

I always wanted a set, but long wrenches were expensive. So I settled for owning the one that I really needed to use once a year, and admiring from afar.

So when I saw the sets at Napa, I knew it was my time to buy them. At a little over $3 a wrench, I was able to afford them. I can see what happened here. Someone made a mistake. The item is listed as a 7 piece set, and priced as a 7 piece set. The picture shows 11 wrenches, and the part number is for an 11 piece set. I took a chance. I ordered online, and selected the option to pick it up in the store. That way, if it wasn't the 11 piece long set, I would refuse it and not have to pay for it. The long wrenches with the part numbers listed were shipped to the store. And yes, it's longer than the "average" wrench.

TGIF Nor-Cal. Sounds like a good deal on those wrenches. I don't do enough work to buy any more tools. I barely use the ones I have.

I am not a mechanic. My cars are running. Just getting something I always wanted. Which I literally waited decades to buy. I do know that the first job I do, will pay for them. If I change my thermostat, an easy job, it will save maybe an hour or two on mechanic labor. I've paid for all my tools that way. One oil change and you have paid for the wrench, jack, and so on. The truth is that I am a tool junkie. I own things like a pole saw. Why pay hundreds for tree trimming, when I can buy a saw? Why pay hundreds to change a hot water heater, or stove, when I can do it with a few wrenches that only cost a few dollars? I did buy a sewer jet for about a hundred, to save a few thousand on hiring a plumber . My neighbor paid $2,400 for a plumber to run a sewer jet . I'm not doing engines and transmissions. Just very simple jobs. The problem is accumulating a pile of tools, that aren't being used every day.
