Have you ever opened one up to see if it's actually doing anything?
No, haven't opened , or even replaced, one yet, hence the reason for the statement "I suppose they work" in the original post. Probably should replace one as it has been in service for at least 30K miles now. Guess I'll order up a replacement for it, swap them out and cut the old one open to see what (if anything) it caught.
But even if nothing is inside the filter when its opened, does that mean it wasn't working, or does that mean my power steering fluid system was clean enough to start with?
