One the other hand you crossing state lines chasing two aggressive bikers down a side road are very lucky to not have ended up in a hole and your truck in a freaking lake.
Well, I had no gun, against the law for me to carry one on an interstate commerce class vehicle.
And, if he had pulled a gun, then I surely would have run over his scooter.

never heard of a law preventing carrying a gun as long as you can in the states you travel to and from.

This is tough one because he was in 2 states. But transporting is legal however each state deems. No federal law I know of.

Indiana is Constitution carry.

MI is beg for a right state.

So if he would have shot them in face in MI he would be judged.

After rereading, shooting them in face would be bad in MI. I saw IN and was amazed from there.

Carry is different than transport. Transport in trunk, ammo in a lock box vs in any factory console or on your side hidden or in open is different.

I can not carry the same in NY as KY. NY will jail me in a second if I carried how we do in a free state.

Ok, there we are, carry is dependent upon each state, whether you have a permit or carry or transport or agreements.

No such thing as transport with a commerical vehicle or non commerical

Any adult US citizen with no felonies can carry here (WY), anyway they want to. But pulling and shooting someone can only be when it’s your last and only resort. If you can flee, you must do that unless it’s in your home then you can go ahead and turn them into Glockamole.

I think we agree. I am unaware of any CDL DOT firearm laws.

Think we are saying follow the laws of the state you are in. Right?

Companies can have a SOP and insurance companies can but that is a choice made by the driver if they want to give up a right.

Dude could have had 7 tours in the s-hole places running convoys.

They held freaking restraint with some out of state Ahole chasing them like a mad man that they believed brake checked them.

I call them scooters because it pisses the motorcycle guys off, especially the hardcore riders like the joker who broke the mirror.

As to the gun carry, it is legal to carry it in the commercial truck, but has to be unloaded and locked away, so you aren't going to just grab it and draw down on someone accosting you. Plus, as this article says, so many independent gun laws around the country that carrying can get you in trouble in one place but not another, best bet for someone classified as a commercial driver going all over the country is to not carry.
As to me, company policy also keeps one out of my truck.
I do carry a fair size lock blade knife, and my 4-D cell maglight just in case.
