I removed and cleaned my parking brake switch, and the blade connector for it, with brake cleaner. Got all the residue off. Still no light on the dash. I know, on the scale of things, its silly/trivial, but id like it to work. All the other dash lights work, so i dont "think" its the bulb. Any ideas where this failure might be?
For the record, it was working, intermittently, got better after i blindly sprayed some pb blaster on the switch, and then it stopped, and i havent seen it on in over a year
You can simply put a jumper to ground on the wire at the switch to see if it's switch or wiring side. It's a single wire. When it's ground it should turn the light on in cluster.
This right here is why i have a love hate relationship with this forum. I love that other minds weigh in, and remind me of the simple things, keeping me from chasing my tail. I hate when that same advice leads to me feeling like a walking ID-10-T error code....
You called it. Wasnt connecting across that stupid washer. Filed the connecting face, and the light works now.
That stupid piece of plastic with a spring and blade connector costs 30$ to replace.
