This one is 10CFM for 400HP motors….there are different sizes avail. a .03 micron CCV filter sounds great. Since most of the cans and traps don’t do any filtering…should clean up soot nicely

not sure how long it would last since it’s probally. It serviceable and will probably be a throw away item once it gets filled. there are also different size fitting connections.

Oh woe they sell a replacement element. probably use a back pressure gauge to tell if it is full.

https://www.jmesales.com/parker-raco...er-assemblies/

sounds like a good place to put a drain petcock valve.

Hose kits

Not cheap but if you want true CCV soot filtering and fluid separation I think this is the ticket.

Speakerfritz, after I looked at the photos of this CCV, I noticed one of the models appears to have the red "indicator" in the down position when looking at the clear "cap" on top. Do you think that may be to indicate its full? Or am I all wrong about what I am seeing?

I read the specs and it mentions an indicator but not sure if it comes with it or if it’s an add on.

I just ordered the RACCV450008R model.

the inlet and output fittings would be the same size as the connector to our CCV inlet to the returns tube.

my stock CCV filter element is already removed so all I have is the CCV case which is now wide open. So all I have to do is disconnect t my current CCV hose at the pre-turbo connection , put in a male to make adapter, run some hose to this filter, run hose back to the pre-turbo connector.

the hose on Amazon for oil grade 1 1/4 tubing is 50 bucks for 25 ft, so I’ll have extra. The two 1 3/16 -12 SAE fittings are less than ten bucks for a pair.

I went with the RACCV450008R unit becuase the fitting size was a good match, although it’s rated for 400HP, I think it will be fine. Big price jump to go to the next model rated for 600HP and the fittings are larger which will require reducers.

Isn't this a similar system as the Ford serviceable CCV that was discontinued?

No, the original ccv filter on the 6.7 f250/350's with the bolts on the cover the serviceable one. the filter media looks similar as does the concept.

This system has a .3 micron filter, a drain back valve , pressure relief valve. This element is larger that the ford discontinued internal twin element.

i thought you meant some type of ford f-650 coffee can size external filter.

You mean this…the ford filters are the size of two cup cake pan holes. Vs the coffee can size filter element in the .3 micron filter.

but I guess a filter is a filter…technically…no idea on the micron rating of the ford filter.

Yep, same dish different presentation. Sans the indicator which can be over come with a service interval to replace the filter.

Yup..... looks like the same kinda filters that were discontinued for getting plugged up, causing pack pressure blowouts. Bigger....maybe. But that they rate it "for 400hp maximum" is a bit of a red flag in my book.

It's definitely thinking outside the box, and that's cool, but nothing I'd be interested in pursuing... Who knows if that has enough flow for a 6.7 Powerstroke? Plus I already have the Mishimoto catch can.

I'm more interested in the Fass EGR filter. I'll comment more in that thread.

There are three sizes of these…some where in the area of these specs

400hp /10CFM
600hp/20CFM
800hp/40CFM

I ordered one because I need a drain able can with a filter.

i think the 400hp unit will be fine…worst case it will fill up quicker than the projected 20k miles.

the delivery is on back order.

when i get it installed, ill run periodic back pressure test and liquid capture updates.

Ok, I just looked into this closer... this is a more advanced version of the Mishimoto oil catch can that I have installed... this uses a coalescing filter instead of a sponge (Mishimoto), to pull the oil/water/fuel or whatever else is in a aerosol form, out of the blow-by from the crankcase. This MAY be an option for me at one point because I believe it would work with the Mishimoto adapters under the OEM CCV box. But the challenge would be where to mount and where to run the hoses... I could always get adapters, hose menders, for the bigger hoses that come with this set up to plug into the hoses I use with the Mishi catch can and adapters.

AND I've been corrected... seeing the size of the diesel engine that the CCV4500 is mounted to on the product spec brochure, I'm sure it would work just fine on our 6.7s...
