Morning. Got called out at 1900hrs for a tree last night after being home for a couple of hours. Got that cleaned up and figured I'd just go to the yard and hang out for a bit. Wind would blow now and then. Had some local power outages. Figured if I stayed all night I wouldn't called out. If I went home, I'd get called out. Sure enough, never got a call the rest of the night. At 2300hrs got word an agreement was reached for a contract. Guess it's back to normal on Thursday. At least as normal as it can be after all of the BS. Pretty hard to look at some folks the same...
Morning all. Strike is over and we are back to work like nothing happened. Not complaining. Ended up working 32 of 36 straight hours between Tuesday and Wednesday.
Got up at 0200 to drop the wife off at PDX this morning as she is headed to Texas to see the daughter. Just me and dogs for the next of couple of weeks. Even brought one of the dogs with me today to see how she'd do in a strange place and different people. Will probable cut the day short to get some sleep. I'm beat.
Good evening Oregon and everyone everywhere else. Got back to Bravo in a short lived snow storm yesterday evening. Moderate to heavy rain for all but the last 35 miles. Slush from Salt Creek tunnel to near the Waldo Lake turn. From there to the Crescent Cut off at 97 (Shell Station) it was 30 to 40 mph with snow build up on packed snow and ice. Did all of that in 4WD High Range. Went 2wd a couple of times but it seemed a little squirrelly briefly a couple of times and 4WD seemed very solid.
Saw a lot of semi’s ignoring the chain requirements. A lot of pickups & SUV’s towing trailers were ignoring the chain up signs and requirement as well.
Those folks ran into a problem east of Gold Lake. A number of ODOT vehicles, the kind with the red overhead lights, were making all them folks pull over and chain up. Some folk’s weren’t looking too happy.
Dash cam photo. Good thing I was only doing about 30 at the time and got stopped. Almost added more meat to what I was already bringing up to Bravo. If I would have nailed him, I’d have had to buy another freezer.
Belated goog morning Oregon and everyone everywhere else. Heavy rain all night and high winds starting around 0300. Calmed down just after sunup, but that only lasted an hour or so. Intermittent under heavy overcast now. High wind warnings still in effect for the next couple of hours.
Morning all. Finally catching up on some sleep the last two days. Not doing a lot this weekend. Only thing on todays agenda is a funeral for a long time family friend.
I should be cutting firewood but after last week, I don't really want to pick up a saw or hear one.
