Also worked in the homemade “ice cream topping” and cold weather antifreeze today. So far, the sampling is showing positive potential…
We do have these little critters that are mostly hibernating now, but a couple of them didn't get the memo....and yes I bribed him with a Frito!
Jim, not my playmate. With 3 other dogs I have plenty of buddies. Besides I prefer ones that can actually do something. The 2yo heeler is coming along well and is turning into a great pal. I took her to work with me most of the last couple weeks and she did great. I call her the GenZ Heeler... No job, doesn't want a job, and is perfectly fine laying on the couch all day. She loves everyone so the only thing I need work with her on is not running up to every person she sees, especially the people that are 100yds away. smh. Pretty much the opposite of my other heeler. We have in interesting pack to say the least....

Back to full days and a normal work schedule starting tomorrow.
Rich, we’ve been talking about a ‘buddy’ for Snoopy, but it will have to be a smaller breed and most likely a rescue. Bend shelter has a black lab mix that the write up describes just what we would be looking for, but I don’t think the Warden can handle another big dog. She’s does bring up “ lap” dog so we’ll see. I’ve always had the soft spot towards Labs. Up until Eitrie they had always been black. Eitrie (daughter named him) was the first yellow. Now Snoopy.
Snoopy fits your Gen Z to a T! He loves to race up to anyone he sees with his ‘over the horizon’ eye sight. Our social skills are fantastic. it’s our exuberation combined with the attitude that if it walks and breaths then it should want to play. Not everyone is appreciative of a playful, jumping, excited very big pup.
Run into a problem with the tractor forks. Not sure if it’s the length or the width or a combination of both. I’ll diagnose later when I have more time.
Ford Trucks for Ford Truck Enthusiasts
Tractor Forks will have to go back. Found a broken bolt on a cross piece which is minor but they are the 43” and not the 60”. Have a couple of pallets that will make good kindling now, unless I want to rebuild them.
n 1980 a good friend, fellow Flight Engineer, someone I flew the "circuit with", went into Iran and Pakistan with and all around good guy was killed in the Crash of a P3 in Pago Pago. I was notified by an NAS Whidbey group I'm in that they would be putting up a Gold Star - Memory tree and names from any service could be submitted for consideration. Since Whidbey is now the west coast home port for all Pacific Reconnaissance & Patrol Squadrons, I had my Son In Law (a Chief Petty Officer at Whidbey) put Jim's name in. Well, I got a picture today....
Dog crate to get put together now. Pellets unloaded. Putting 12 bags a trip in the bucket again turned out to be the ticket. Forks are going back.
Another spot was wintertime chip trucks on 18B just South of Willamina in Polk County. 90° corner with railroad tracks cutting the radius. It would get slick as all get out. At least two if not 3 chip trucks every winter off the corner, on their side down a 10' embankment. We hated it because the only tow trucks capable of getting them out of there usually came out of Oregon City. You could kiss at least 6 hours of your shift and lunch break gone..........No, State Highway didn't have the Incidence Response trucks in those days. You would have an easier time finding Bigfoot than you would getting an ODOT crew out there.

Pretty looking wood though.
I managed to put the blade on the tractor through the wood fence by the pole barn last night. So, after the anniversary and holiday travels I’ll get to pick up 5 1X6X8 dog eared boards and…..
