Thank you for clarification. I was like well heck, I made all the wires the same.
Been following this post. Only thing I would add corrosion is a topic that effects battery and terminals. Dielectric prevents a portion of this in the northern states road Salt and ice prevention measures stops me from driving in these conditions with my classic F-100. But I know some of us have to. It's our Dailey driver. I've used rubber nipples on all my heavy electrical connections and even my battery terminals. These plastic covers with dielectric added prevents alot of corrosion issues. And I use them. Just my two cents that makes sense when dealing with high Amp discharge that we deal with in our Fords AJ
.
for got another issue. My 55 F-100 had grounding issues. Negative battery lines were run to each rubber or anti rub straps my bed. cab, all from the engine block. After I did that little mod using all.10 gauge black wire with brass cable ends and insulated with heat shrink. All my assorted. Lighting started working better turn signals head lights. Stop lites and running lites. Even my Amp gauge had better indications. AJ.
You took it out for the true acid test with your wife on a date night ? You are one brave man! LOL
Jest kidding you of course.
My wife isn't the least bit interested in old cars or trucks but she like riding in my noisy, smelly, rough riding F-2. We've gone on many different short rides where she insisted on taking the old Ford. Some of them didn't go too smoothly. We've had dead batteries, burnt points and an under hood wire fire. We've made it through them all and she still insists on taking the old Ford whenever possible.

At least she is interested in YOUR old truck! She is a keeper.

She also like going to the FTE meets, not many women would go 800 miles in a 70 year old truck to hang around for a couple of days with people she doesn't know. Now she knows most of the people really enjoys it. She wanted to come back to PA next fall but my son and future daughter in law take that into consideration when planning their wedding. They won't budge on the date.
