I apologize if this is a repeat. I've looked all over and haven't quite seen this issue. I have a 1990 450. Shifts great but lockup is giving me issues. Everything shifts right on que, but it will only go into lockup when I'm actively pressing the accelerator (gaining speed) but the second I start to let up on the pedal it kicks out of lockup. I've changed the speed sensor, brake switch and TPS. I've adjusted the TPS every way possible. If I max the TPS to one particular direction, it stays in lockup better but then all the other gears shift way to soon. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Do you have LED brake lights? Do you have a third brake light, and does it work? Either of these will cause no lockup at light throttle, but the lockup will work at heavier throttle.

Actually I'm pretty sure it does have LEDs. I just bought 8t recently. Can this be checked by disconnecting them or does that break a circuit of some kind?
Funny how changing the smallest part for a high tech part, makes the computer think the brake lights are on.
I don’t understand why so many people are replacing bulbs with LED. For what? It seems to only cause more problems. It has been so many years that I could not tell you the last time I had to replace a light bulb.

I had just bought this truck and the LEDs were already there. I would of never guessed that was the problem. I can say that when I replaced the LED the change was immediate and very obvious.
LED brake lights activate faster and therefore gives a quicker notice to the person behind you.
Like a lot of technology, people think it's cool. Like most people, they are cheap. Like most business' they will make products to so they can make money. That all equals some business will make cheap cool technology that is just junk. That is why there is so much problems. Someday, cheap people will realize that that it just costs them more in the long run.
