Hey all. I have a 1992 f250 XLT with the E4OD in it. Bought it a few months ago and have had this issue since I got it.
When the truck has been running for a while, it has a tendency to kick out of OD and use it as a 2nd neutral so to speak. It won’t shift down into 3rd even if I press the OD button. It’s quite annoying as it normally requires me to stop and park to get it to shift through gears again and sometimes won’t rekick in OD leaving me to drive about 40 wherever I’m going. I’ve replaced the speed sensor and it helped by loads but it didn’t solve the issue. I’m being led to believe it’s something electrical since it hasn’t gotten worse while I’ve had it.
It also short shifts 3rd by a little and OD by a lot.
Any ideas for what I could look into would be appreciated as I don’t really have take it to a shop money at the moment.
