E4OD - Confused?

E4OD - Confused?
I'm sort of confused about the E4OD in my '95 F-150. It sounds like it has 5 gears, not four like it should have. There's a well define shifting sound going fro m 1st to 2nd, 2nd to 3rd, 3rd to fourth at about 30 mph, then a 4th to 5th/OD at about 37-38 mph. That all while at very light partial throttle. Am I crazy? I've counted over and over while driving, but i know the E4OD is a 4 speed or 3pd + OD. I'm going nuts.
