Hmm, maybe a thread -- reserve the first couple of posts for updates
Well, I yanked the OP's chain a little, but I had no right to. Lord knows I've drug folks here down some pretty deep rabbit holes, longer than he did,.only to find my Bonehead at the bottom. But, I did get out of the driver's seat. So, that's all he did "wrong," and it mostly just deserves a good laugh, like that time I installed the new power steering pump and left the factory cap on one of the fluid lines - put the hose right over the top of it and wondered why it didn't work. Even stumped the dealer techs with that one.

I tried to clean my degas bottle. The coolant is clean so I think it's just age. Went ahead and bought a new bottle at O'Reilly's while I was getting the new reservoir hose. Time will tell.
And it's back to normal again... Well, as normal as a 2003 6.0l with 200k can be. Soldered and shrink wrapped the chewed wire for the ICP sensor. Replaced the coolant reservoir hose and the degas bottle. Replaced the wire loom and liquid taped some minor chewed insulation on a few random wires throughout. Honestly looks better now than it did before under the hood. Soldered Shrink wrapped Sealed and wrapped the power cable that they chewed up.
Woohoo, looking good. That isn't green coolant, is it?
Absolutely not...I made that mistake once.
The fine folks in this forum were quick to correct my mistake. A painstaking weekend of flushing and filling with distilled water and proper Zerex Heavy Duty Extended Life coolant followed.
