Truck 2000 F 350 7.3 4r100 4x4
Rebuild transmission 20000 miles ago.
Truck runs ok little to no blow by never really had any big problems. Do have hydra chip set on fuel sip 65hp, I don't have a heavy foot.
Last week i noticed when stopped at red light for 10 seconds it crackling bad for a couple seconds, no drop in rpm to see on tac, don't see change in hpop pressure.
Then 4-5 days later when getting on the freeway like it lost power and shudder in 4th gear right before where it would go into overdrive and Trans temp was suddenly over 180, use to be in the 160.
I have had the lose of power and shudder 3-4 since, the crackling at stop is more a come and go.
Right now I have the hydra on stock and take it very easy till I have an idea what's going on.
Suggestions to look/check
I checked plugs connections under hood and transmission/ t case/ rear diff. Have not checked Harness under valve cover yet.
Do I have converter problem that try to lock up when stopped and get the crackling?
Or am I in need of a new transmission?
Tshudder in 4th gear right before where it would go into overdrive
First off, that's impossible. Fourth gear is overdrive so it can't go from fourth gear to overdrive. Most likely you are feeling the torque converter locking, not a shift.
Get Forscan at www.forscan.org. Their page shows how to select an adapter to plug into the OBDII port. With Forscan you can read the codes. You need to codes to diagnose this. You also can read live data so that you know what gear you're in and when the converter is locked up.
4th gear just my lag of wording, but yes right before the lock up.
I have the car gauge pro app on my phone and I have no codes that it can read, beside no intake heater.
Downloaded the FORScan free to my laptop that will connect to the OBD2 Bluetooth adapter. Didn't get any codes besides exhaust control valve and intake heater as both was removed long time ago.
What do I need to look at of pid data?
I'd also replace your fuel filter and post a pic of the old one.
Kinda sounds like fuel starvation to me. Hard to tell. No way to test fuel pressure without a dedicated aftermarket gauge, you can't see it on Forscan.
This section from the Tech Folder at the top of the forum tells you all you need to know.
Looked at that to, but what specific data point should I look at for my problem?

Fuel filters under hood and under bed, fuel pump and fuel line from tank to pump replaced 3 weeks ago, filter under hood nice and clean, didn't cut open the filter under the bed. Fuel tank was dropped the same time to replace the foot, picked up old foot, no other debris or grid in fuel tank.

So what you’re saying is the issues began about 2 weeks after working on the fuel system? Last thing touched is normally the first place to look. I would do the fuel pressure testing as suggested by aawlberninf350. There’s an “easy” method listed in the Tech folder (connect to fuel bowl drain). Also run a line to a bucket to see if the fuel is aerated.
Was the torque convertor replaced with the trans?? I had a transmission replace and the cooler line was crimped at some point.. I would get a random shutter when pulling RV especially when pulling hills. it was not all the time just sometime.. when the trans was removed and the TQ looked at you could see heat on the area where the disk are located.. it was suspected the line was not allow fluid to flow freely and the TQ was slipping some what causing a shutter..
