Adding coolant temperature gauge

I have wiring for a 2nd coolant temperature sensor, and I want to put a temp sensor in, since the factory one isn’t the best. Where can I put the sensor itself? My t-stat housing no longer has a hole for a sensor.

The easy way would be to put gauge adapter in radiator hose,or heater hose next would be if you have a flat boss on thermostat housing drill and tap it.Last find another water passage on your block and use it which is the proper way.

I use the heater hose , get some pipe fittings that fit the hoses and sensor.

The factory EFI temp sensor on the I6 engines are hard piped just to right of my additional sensor. I am using the same sensor for the ECU and programmed a Arduino to show engine temp on a LED display.

Is there another water port in the block, beside the factory temp gauge? For the 302.

I found room on the t- stat housing boss on a 5.8. Kinda tight fit, but the small sender worked.

I know it’s been a while since I asked this question. But I’m looking at getting a gauge now since it’s become a priority. I don’t have the passageway in the t-stat housing anymore, and I would like to put it in a block passageway if there is another one on my 302. If there isn’t do you or anyone else have a link to an adapter to put on the top radiator hose?
