Started an unplanned remodel project over the weekend that quickly became a contractor job. Looks like the water supply to the washing machine was leaking and leaking for a while....

Wow! Is that covered by any type of new home warranty? Seems hard to believe the house is old enough to have that much / type of water damage.
Not only do you need a contractor, it looks like you might need a logger as well! Looks like trees growing out of the dryer.
Most likely it's not covered by insurance since it was a supply hose leak and it occurred over time. It was not an immediate catastrophic failure. I'll have to look at my insurance book to determine how to properly phrase it I guess. No warranty as the house is over 2 years old now. Not the builders fault but the cheap rubber ring in the hose. Deductible is fairly high so it depending on cost it may not be worth the claim. Merry Christmas to us!
