What size were you running?

I've seen really watery pits (4" of rain overnight after they had watered it) where a guy with a huge chevy on cut 53" michelins went through and dug some huge trenches before the bog even started(he wasn't competing) and the only people that could get through it was a jeep with front and rear steer on rocks and 44" boggers and an s10 on rocks and 44" boggers. Everyone else pretty much pulled into the pit and sunk to the bottom and it was over.

ya, it was really cheap! The bog was on saturday morning and they had a free fun day on friday, but it was more to play in the open pit, rocks, and hills. They didn't expect anyone would rip through the pit since they didn't have anything there to pull them out. But he ripped through the bog a bunch of times and nobody could get through his ruts. In the 35 and under class, the trucks would take off and if you were on the right line to avoid the ruts you made it a little, but if you slid into the ruts, some of them didn't even get their rear tires into the pit and they were high centered on the axle. this dude had a built big block and that sucker must have had some power cause them michelins are like boat anchors and he was spinning the hell out of them!

wow, and they didnt redothe pit to get rid of the ruts, before the classes start, just what i would think should happen. With a truck like that, i would get bored, no challenge there. I like my truck in the mud, does it do well heck no, but no matter how much mud i am in, its a challenge, thanks to my sweet bfg shovels though i never get stuck! ha yea right. i just accept that getting stuck is apart of life, and even bigger part when you run shovels.

Ya, it wasn't a major event and i don't think too many od them thought he tore it up as bad as he did. the fact that htey had been watering everythign all week and then out of nowhere it poured all day friday and friday night. Everything had alot of water on it. And this was in Oklahoma so all the water just ran to the low spots. it messed the even up pretty bad cause the gauntlet type pit had so much water in it that the 35 and below guys got cancelled after the first 3 that tried barely got all 4 wheels into the mud and got stuck. i think same Jeep and same S10 were the only ones who made it. Even thoguh the s10 broke a steering link and kinda went out of bounds a few times cause he couldn't make a very good right turn.

He is very serious and wildly talented. He races in a couple of classes and is a real student of the sport.

At the sanctioned events, the dragsters go first then the smailler classes working up from there. I watched a new stock jeep fly along with the top down and stay clean because it was so light. I was amazed. Good looking lady driver too.

There are usually two MASSIVE water trucks that are used to get the track squared away. The officials get the track to a reasonable consistancy in both lanes prior to the whole thing starting

Nick, the key word there was "CUT" haha The guy was pretty creative on the cutting too. You could hardly tell they used to be a michelin pattern.

Ok, just for comparison. I took the prices of some of the comparable tires to the BFG M/T and I threw in the bogger just to get a apples and oranges comparison. All size 315/75-16 (which I feel is a popular size) and the bogger is a 35x10.50-16

BFG M/T $260 (4wheelonline)
BFG M/T KM2 $237 (tirerack)
pro Comp M/T $206 (4wheelonline)
Wrangler MT/R $249 (tire rack)
Pro Comp Xtreme M/T $217 (4wheelonline)
Dunlop mud rover $164 (tire rack)
Hankook dynapro M/T $208 (discount)
Yoko geo M/T $197 (tirerack)
Maxxis bighorn $172 (tires-easy)

Bogger $227

I wouldn't say these are the cheapest places to buy. But why buy a BFg when there are tires exactly like it for much less $$$$.
