Im looking at some Mickey Thompson Baja Claw radials, 33x12.5. They look very aggressive for off road, wheather it be mud or rock. Does anyone know about these tires. Any info at all would be great.
Baja Claws are directional. Decide which side of your rig you think you might get the most flats, and mount the spare accordingly. Have not tried 'em , but heard they don't wear to well. Maybe they don't check the air pressure though. I like my 37" SSR's. 10 ply and E rated.

Or get a spare of the same size that isn't directional.
Ok so from reading this, directional tires are bad bad and should be out of the question. hence why i never see them on anything. So would be better of going with some buckshot and just tear the mud up and not worry about the rocks, tear them up too lol.
directional tires are fine to use, just could be hard if you use the spare. but in all reallity you can use a directional tire on either side and a temerary use, the only downside being less traction. nothing to be afraid of and avoid. i have heard good things about those baja claws, but like any mud/off-road tire, they wear quickly.
Pro- Comp's Xterrain is also a directional tire and they strongly do not recomend useing the tire the "other way". They said the cords could seperrate. Just repeating. I looked into those also.
Using directional tires is o.k. just use a spare that is nondirectional. For examle, for the Mickey Thompsons us could use a same size Kuhmo Venture MT which is available in sizes 31, 32, 33, 35. This is an example, not an endorsement. For the money though, the 33's are intrigueing.
the point about the spare for directional tires is a good tip if you were to go with a diredtional i would recommend groung hawgs the bias not radial. they are awesome in mud snow and every thing not so nice. they last forever as well a little rough on the kidneys in the winter time before the tire warm up but other than that i recommend them to anyone.
