I got my 150 up to 3rd gear in 4lo last year on 38.5's, ended up with a 7.6 second full pull run. I didn't have time to see the speedo, but I know I was hooking and bookin!!!
Well, I guess if you want to pick a fight, supporting Nitto tires is easier than slamming religion. I'm sorry that all of you have had terrible experiences with them. I had no issue at sanctioned mud racing events, the Silver lake sand dunes, Big Bend in Texas, or Mexico.
Obviously, these tire are awful. Thanks for setting me straight. If it will help you guys relax, I will admit... I don't run them now....

and you competed with them?.......didn't win didja?
i didn't go last year because I was deployed. I'm hoping to be there this year. they have a "what T-shirt contest" It's a good time! :P Much like mudfest i'm sure.

except there is no rocks and is 50 billion times bigger
Ya, the rocks at mudstock are more of a joke. That is just the general play area. there is also a trail run but they don't recommend it for anyone under a 36" tire and prefer if you have a winch also, so you aren't holding everyone up while someone else winches you through.

lemme guess, the winner was on boggers?
Now you're really going to be unhappy. I was the only one that didn't have to be fished out with the back hoe. I came to a stop and then got going again. Once the others stopped, they were stuck. Now, it was the first time I had ever been in mud so this was just dumb luck. It also helps that the tires were relativly narrow considering the truck's weight, which is fairly balenced at 5K on the front axle and 4K on the rear axle. Yes, I had a coach in the #2 seat.
I don't race now because I would be up against 800 hp killers and.... I'm too lazy to carry the mud around for six months.
I'd rather live with the red dust of MOAB, it weighs less!

It was an open day - One guy's truck was a boat on a chevy chassis. I was on 37" The funny thing, fellas on 49" were getting stuck.
By mid season, the dragsters were coming in. It does seems that narrower tires on heavier trucks do better. On one class, folks lean towards smaller 38" boggers that are narrower rather than go with the 39.5" that are much wider. A buddy of mine is a serious competitor and he thinks he will need to drop 10K in the engine to win this year.
