Very important to know what you think.
It is my understand that inertia has some to do with the tranny brake working
If this is true, your observations will either prove or disprove this hypothesis.
How heavy is the trailer?
Sorry to hear of all the troubles with the 6.0...
I had my '01 Super Duty (V-10) in the shop to get the 30,000 mile routine tranny flush and decided to test drive a '04 PSD. It seems to be a nice motor and tranny combo. However, after reading this thread I will need to wait a few more years before I trade my spark-plug motor for an oil burner.
Computer "flashes" every month or two?? WOW!!! Sounds like Ford needs to get a new computer guy who can get it right the first time and quit jacking their customers around with incomplete fixes.
$5,085 is a lot of money to spend on a motor which doesn't work as advertised... Ford, are you listening???

No tranny Brake above 45 MPH. The trailer was about 7000 lbs. Sorry I can't tell you the grade of the hill I didn't pay attention to that.On a side note though, I didn't try it but, I would guess I can still downshift out of 4th to 3rd for a brake.

Nor what was advertized
Exactly right Tim, that is the main reason I bought the truck. That's also the main reason I have been on the phone with Ford a couple of times a week. I have made it fairly clear, give me back what I bought, or...dang, now I need a beer!
