New Flash worked so far

After holding off as long as I could (7 months) to get any flash upgrades on my truck, I am pleased to say that the 3 recalls below worked great so far. I had 17,500 on my truck and only put 100 miles since Re-Flash so the jury is still out, but it has eliminated constant rough idle, stalling and smoking.

03B06 Cold Operation Calibration Product Enhancement

3U7A FTC is the Dec flash. Had some power improvement, shift point changes, cold idle. etc. Didn't do a thing for mileage. It changed the tranny brake in tow/haul mode in 4th and 5th.

It is a step in the right direction.

that is the dec. flash the ford part#3u7a12a656ftc and the file # is vxam7n3 stood there and watched service mngr. update mine he let me write info down while wds was flashing my truck, went today to another dealership to get them to look at truck in reguard to poor fuel mpg. they told me on the phone there was a new flash thought it might the one we having hoping for turns out to be false alarm no new flash yet. but what I did find out is that it is very critical to have a skilled diesel tech. do the flash. my truck has been the shop for poor fuel mpg 4 times the dealership told me there is nothing wrong with you truck and they said repeatly no codes. Took it to another dealer today and he found two codes as soon as he hooked up wds said that they have most likely been there since day one. bad fuel module broken since installed tech. said no other way for internal part to break except during install. also found egr to be bad, also needed re-calibration of fuel injection, hope this clears up my fuel mpg problems.

The reduced tranny braking is very disappointing.

My truck is in the shop for the fourth time. In for the dec 12 flash, getting only 9.5 mpg in town empty, 6.5 pulling trailer and no power, rear seal is leaking, back doors rattles. You that say your getting 13 mpg,or better, is that on your over head or are you taking it manualy? My overhead has be on 13.5 for ever. Will get truck back next week will let you all know how it turns out. I have june 03 350 4x4 crewcab shortbed

I figure my mpg on paper not on overhead, I to poor fuel mpgs, found out some important facts today on mine. Like you been several times they kept telling me they couldnt find anything wrong. took it to different dealer today they told me as soon as they hooked it up to wds that it was showing several codes they thought had been there since truck was new. fuel module was bad and egr bad and injector need recalibration, truck sure runs good to earl to tell on mpgs but I am hoping. said all that to say it is immportant to ask them to make sure there are no codesand also ask in a nice way if tech working on truck is diesel quaifyied. that was case on mine tech didnt know how to use wds to read codes.

Ran in T/H coming down a mountain pass (unloaded). Applied the brakes a couple of times at 65 MPH. No joy until I slowed to 45 MPH.

Major bummer, did you tap twice at the desired speed you wanted to desend at?

Mine is getting about 14.3 MPG according to the Overhead dispay. Is this correct? If so, is this bad fuel mileage?

BTW rearend is 3.73 Ratio.............

there are a lot of variables but that is not to bad if that is running around mpg. should do better on the hwy. my 7.3 used to get 13 to 15.6 around town and 19 to 24 on the hwy. My 6.0 has got some problems it gets terrible mpg but they are working to resolve. the problems.
