Angry Stuck whith the new flash!

Had the new flash, runs worse, gets much worse milage & noise levels are unacceptable(just to name a few things). Told dealer to un-flash it.Told dealer if installing new pcm is required then so be it. Dealer has contacted ford and been told that even if a new pcm is installed, it still has to be programmed. The only program available is the one my truck just had put in. I talked to Ford rep today & was told the same thing. I told the rep this is not acceptable and something needs to be done. Rep told me "you have options", I said " great, what are they?" rep said "ARBITRATION!!" Really don't feel like putting the time or effort into that & having to drive a truck I hate, hoping it gets bought back in a few months or so. Going for a few test drives tonight (no, not new Fords) Can you say $10,000 loss in one month!!!!!! And no I'm not rich!, I hate this truck that bad!!!!

Angry

i got one of the 1st superduty 6.0s, its been in the dealer ship 11 times since april 19th, totaling almost 60 days. truck has been getting 13 miles a gallon no matter where u go. I filed for despute settlement board, and ford agreed on giving me a 04 f250 6.0 =) and the dealership is going to take my lift kit off my old truck and back to the new truck.

Dont buy a diesel if you dont want noise unless you go to GM, and get there so called quite diesels which is pretty much a gas engine with out spark plugs.....shiftkx dont forget your driving a big truck that weighs alot dont be expecting to get 20 miles to the gallon, and the gas millage will go down when you start putting weight in the truck and towing stuff, its the same with any truck you buy if your looking for a fuel effecient truck you wont find it, but ford saying the truck gets x amount of miles to the gallon (dont know the exact number) and then it getting -5 miles bellow that is wrong and you should get a new truck out of it as long as the millage your getting is with the truck EMITY!!!! Seems like you got a lemon, you just had bad luck with ford....if your looking for a warrenty on a new truck go with dodge 7year 100k powertrain warrenty.....but be warned if you go with the cummings engine option you will be getting worse gas milage than the psd.my buddy has a 2500 with the diesel his gas milage sucks and gets even worse when he tows his 14,000lb trailer

It sounds like your truck did not take the reflash correctly.
I got the Oct reflash aound the 20th and average mpg
went from 16.04 to 17.7 all around driving. Towing, it went
from 12.4 to 13.3 mpg. Take off is much better, will smoke
both rear tires from dead stop if I let it, (only once, showing
off). There is a small amount of smoke at cold start up.
And just a couple of days ago I smoked one of those
Duracraps .
Good luck....

Mn 6.0, if its 03e03 flash it has done the same with my truck, milage right in the toilet, 18 mpg before the flash, less than 14 and dopping after the flash.

eharmon, then yours is an anomoly. Most early 03's seemed to lose about 3-5 mpg after the Oct flash. Flashes are collective so if you got the Dec flash you got all the "features" of the Oct flash. I documented my mileage before and after the Oct flash and met with the service manager, who went to Ford area rep, who offered me an extended premium warranty to offset my cost until the new flash comes out that will fix the mileage/performance issue. That fix is due out any time now. If it doesn't fix it, I will calmly sit down with the service manager and explore future options. It pays to be businesslike in your dealings regardless of how upset you are. It's just a truck, expensive, but just a truck.

Just checked my e-mail & surprised to see a thread from the 6.0 forum. I traded that truck in over 2 months ago, (after owning it for seven weeks). I took a big hit on the trade, but it was worth every penny to have a truck I can depend on and enjoy driving. Now when get in & turn the key, I smile instead of swear. '04 Super Crew FX4 5.4 3.73

I have not received the Dec flash. My truck is just a tad
louder than before the Oct flash. My mpg has slipped
lately, I figure it is due to the winter blended fuel. I will
not get the next flash unless it addresses mpg and
improves overall performance. The last time I checked
mileage, it was 16.8 mpg, and that was combined
city/highway. I have not checked it lately because of
extended warm up periods and using 4x4 alot due
weather. Overall I am with my truck.

Since you have had the Oct flash, get the Dec flash. It took some of the sting out of the issues with the Oct flash.
