i have currently had my 2002 f150 into a local dealer for warrenty repairs. the dealer i took it to is not the one i purchased the truck from. i went to this dealer only because it was closer to home than the other dealer. well i have been fighting with the service manager and he has caused me alot of problems. i have talked to ford several times about the dealer's service department. the whole thing is that i have installed a 3/4 lowering kit onto my truck and the dealer just about refuses to work on problems with the motor or trans area and says that my ENTIRE warrenty is no void because of the lowering kit. i asled the man does my suspension affect how the motor runs or trans operates and all he had to say is it dont matter the trucks been lowered and thats that. well after a few more words he says i promise you that you pinon agels are off and i said oh really isnt this the same as the truck having a load in the back or a trailer on it and then all he could do was studder a little. then i told him that i wanted to meet with a ford rep when he comes to the dealer then the service manager tried his best to talk me out of it. well i kept insisting on it and finally he said ok and took all my info and then said he would call when i could meet with the rep and said the rep might want to meet with me at the dealer where i bought the truck. i said thats fine. so three weeks pass and the service manager just now calls me and pretty much just thretens me. saying ford is going to void my warrenty tottaly and so on. then he says he is NOT going to work on the truck anymore. personally i dont think he has a choice being he is a ford dealer and the truck is under warrenty. well to me the whole thing sounds fishy. he has done nothing but try to get me to not talk to this ford rep. what do you all think of this?? what should i do next??
i am going to call ford tomorrow and have a long talk with them and file a complaint and also make an appointment to talk to a ford rep. for everyone who lives in my area DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM FAIRFIELD FORD!!!!!!!
i forgot to mention that ford offers a lowering kit in the ford racing parts catalogue.

While it is possible that the lowering kit may void the warranty on suspension components and drive line components that may be affected by it, it remains HIGHLY unlikely (impossible) that it can void your ENTIRE warranty.
I would make sure to speak to the regional Ford rep - Talking to mine got my warranty extended to 6 years/100,000 miles on my LEMON 98 Ranger 4x4 that I recently traded in on my wife's 02 EB Explorer. Hope that one (the Explorer) is a better vehicle than the Ranger was.
well i called the dealer that i bought the truck from and asked to meet with a factory rep and he said there is no need because they can not void my entire warrenty. he said that my trans and motor are still covered but my suspension may not be.
i plan on doing several things about the dealer that is giving me problems. i am going to call ford customer service, there is another branch of ford that called me about the problem i am going to call back, i am also going to talk to the dealerships GM. if none of those things get anything done then there is no justice in this country, lol. little do they know that my gradfather worked for ford and i still got contacts all over the company.
My question is: Why do you keep bringing the pickup to a dealer who obviously doesn't want anything to do with you or your vehicle? And you obviously have no faith in their abilities either. Bite the bullet and drive the extra mile to the dealer you bought it from.
well cause the dealer i bought the truck from said they couldnt find anything wrong with it and since fairfield ford gave me problems i am going to give them problems. also the delaer i bought the truck from in not just and extra mile or two away. they are an extra 14 miles away on one of the bussiest roads in town. plus my truck is a pretty nice truck and it just screams for sorry butt people who have no abision to work for their own things, to break into it and steal. the dealer i bought it from has no gate or anything around where they park the cars and trucks that are in service. plus you know how it is when you as one to keep it inside. that never happens and i know cause i have gone back and checked up on that at night after the dealer is closed. it was very nice having fairfield ford work on my truck at first cause it was almost right next to where i work so i could drop it off before work them pick it up right after without having to get a ride to and from work and not sitting at the delaer for hours waiting on the shuttle the get back to finally take me home or work. besides they are a ford dealer and they have to work on my truck. everyone complains about customer service from the dealers so much why should i be like some people and run from the problem. i think the dealer owes everyone great customer service due to the price we are paying for new cars and the rate of labor they are chargeing people. so i am not just fighting for me i am fighting for everyone that has had problems with this dealer.
