Got her back on the road, forogt to take pictures of driver rear, boring stuff anyway. Went together much quicker with everything fresh on my mind.

Holy cow the front suspension actually moves now.

Truck runs amazing, noticeable increase in power. Before it would barely accelerate on hills in 5th, now its got power to spare. I have the 6 position ready to go in, but gauges will go in first, happy with the power and spool it has now.

Boring pictures.....

fluid had been changed at some point, but not sure when, def needed it.

cleaned up ready to go. I put the cover on and hand tightened the bolts & let the rtv set up while i worked on trac bar.

There was a small dent in lower part of cover i knocked out some of the way hence the marks there, I half *** painted over it

Little rusty on the ol ac stick, I got back in the groove somewhat.

I took right at 1/4" out of it. I made the cut where the previous owner lengthened it.

I made about 3 passes with 7018, feel good about it.

I like the way it sits now, much easier to get in and out, and steering is correct now as well. Drives pretty good, steering box has some excessive play in it.

I got the get a new fill cap for the transfer tank, got to looking and it takes the same fill cap as the fuel tanks, i thought that was kinf of cool.

Next is door panel repair, gauges, shifter boot and fluid change for trans when parts come in, and throw the chip in.

About to get started on house remodel, and shop. Man ill be glad to give all my stuff a home and have some organization again.

Yes its a blast!!!

This truck has fresh balljoints and tierod/draglink are still tight, along with the shaft going to the box, ive isolated it to the box. Just being cheap for now before i go to a blue top like i did with the 03'

Does your truck have a short or long AAL?

I replaced the steering shaft too. it had some slop in it as well.

IT looks like a short AAL like i removed, then below that two random leaves taken out of a mystery spring pack? Typically the short AAL's make the ride stiffer than the long but are easier to install.

IF you decide to remove it i can give you some tips to save headache to do with the center bolt. Typically the fine threads on them are a pita.

I think I remember the guy from bluetop left redhead and started his own thing, I only went that route on my now sold '03 because it was cheaper of the two and i assume built the same. I havent priced them in a few years, but i really liked the strong feel of the steering it gave.

I will be removing it. too stiff and makes the steering not aligned to track bar which makes a lil bump steer

I was going to break the center bolt off the top and undo ubolts and remove pack

I have new bolts already

Driven it about 100 miles thus far. I am happy to report the truck runs amazing, starts right up cold or hot, and most importantly the engine is not making oil. Its right on full mark and has not budged, where before it was almost two quarts high at this point. And its not turned dark like before.

Waiting for allstate gear kit to show up and ill have the trucks only remaining oil leak fixed, going to change fluid while in there

Changed the shift boot to newer design that comes farther up the stick and top piece gasket. Filled with royal purple atf. I think it was only slightling leaking from shift tower boot cause it does not drip from drain plug area of the bruce jenner anymore.
its now dripping from tranny/tcase xmember. Oil dripping of x-member is drown/black. Not red like what was dripping off bruce jenner before.

thoughts? It almost looks like its coming from engine out the hole in bellhousing behind clutch, running over the top of transmission and down side ane blowing back on to the t-case? Rear main? Front and rear outputs on t-case are dry, its not coming from that or tranny case.
Engine valley is dry, not sure on V/C gaskets but there are not drips coming from engine at all after almost 1000 miles since re-assembly.

See how the frontof the tower is black like its being blown back into it?

Then right here on the pass side its clean where its running down the side? then wind picks it up again and blows it back on the xfer case.

No plans to sell it in the future right now. I just sold my 89 to free up some time/space to give this one some love.
Somehow I missed your response to my question, I apologize for that. If for any reason you ever decide to sell the red truck, please reach out to me.

I just looked back thru my phone and these are the only pics I found of my similar truck, a 96 that I consider the best truck I've owned to date.

96 on the right, 95 on left that I no longer own. Previous fire truck that got too close to a brush fire.

Very very nice!!! Beautiful trucks. Both c&c I assume?

Does yours sit on the overloads when empty? I think this home built flatbed on mine is very very heavy. Seems to make the rear worse than it has to be

Never paid much attention, honestly. That bed weighs 2500 lbs and the truck has lead a rough life, so I'd wager it does.
