I've had my 2018 F-150 for a year and a half and in that time the auto stop start function has never once activated. When I first got the truck I was kind of concerned about it because I don't particularly care for that feature. But after a while I realized there was never coming on. I stopped pushing the button or worrying about it. Then 2 days ago. As I'm trying to cross a busy intersection it decides to come on and turn the truck off and put me into a light panic as I thought the truck had just stalled out in the middle of an intersection lol
Trying to think of what could have changed with the truck that it suddenly coming on. Every time I come to a stop? Truck is fully stock. Thoughts?
I suspect, had you looked at the dash menu during the non working times, that the battery was simply not charged enough to make the computer happy. Do you make a lot of short trips? Did you, about the time it "started" working, make a longer trip?
Mine worked for about a year and a half, since it was new. Then it started only working after an extended trip. My assumption is the battery is no longer holding enough charge to keep the system happy.
The weekend before it started to function again, I did quite a bit of driving. Probably 800 miles over a weekend, so that must be it. The battery is finally fully charged lol because most of my trips are generally shorter

X2 on that. I suggest you start looking for a battery. One slow start, swap it out.
