The bigger issue is that the odds are ~~ 300 million to 1. You are a hundred times more likely to be killed by a shark attack (but only if you swim in the ocean).
Imagine bringing $100,000 cash to 7Eleven, and asking for 50,000 tickets.
Imagine all of those electric cars, with battery packs low to the ground. It's probably not safe when the batteries are submerged. Not that you want any car under water.
Thank you, Lord,! Took the Dodge to one of those Smog/DMV services places, and for a measly $380 I now have a 100% legal car. Title transferred, smog tested, and passed, and new plates with sticker. Don't have to worry about the tow truck coming in and stealing my car because it does not have current tags. Going to mail the Oregon plates, and my brother's handicap placard to the Oregon DMV and be done with it. I am a happy camper.
I could have done some of the paperwork on the Oregon DMV website, but I would have needed an affidavit from myself and my nephew stating we are the only two heirs, and nobody is contesting the decision for me to keep the car. When I went to the Smog test/DMV place they didn't need that. So I paid the $380 and went on my way. If I had gone to the CA DMV it would have been around $200 but I would have to wait for the paperwork to get to Oregon, and then transfer the Oregon title to California and then do the smog. I chose to do it all at once. Sure, it costs more, but everything is done in one shot. Sort of like going to a 7 Eleven for food. You pay more due to the convenience. In this case, it is worth it to me to get it all done with no hassles. Just need to wait a month for the California title. Now, if I can ever get my son in law to take the Ranger in for a tune up and smog retest, I'll be even more happier.
Raising Cane's bought $200,000 in lottery tickets. They didn't win.
I have better luck with throwing kitchen scraps in the yard. At least the occasional odd seed grows and I get free food. Over the years, that investment of garbage has yielded a few dollars worth of meals.
My brother in law, for unexplained reason, got a bunch of Fuji apple trees. He has been giving them away to various friends and family. All bare root , grafted cultivars. I wonder if that's even legal. All sorts of weird laws around agriculture. A few years ago, a deputy sheriff I know came home to a large party of cops. His union rep and supervisor were there, to protect his rights. They gave him the courtesy of waiting for him to get off work, before raiding his house. The chickens his father in law kept in the backyard were fighting ****. He was completely blindsided and shocked. At least he didn't have any out of state fruit or plants.
I am excited. Can't wait 5 years to taste the fruit. I won't have to buy bags of apples at a freeway ramp, ever again. Not that my consumption would impact the economy of Washington's apple orchard industry.
