Technically, I can own a dog here in this cracker box of an apartment. Just pay an additional $500 deposit. However, I doubt I could afford to keep feeding it, and the cleanup would be difficult. We had a dog when we were growing up, but we had a front yard over 100 feet long. In the current situation I have no room for a dog unless I get a small one like Pomeranian or Chihuahua. Still the clean up would be a problem.

My buddy used to call Channel 2 to complain about how bloodshot Dennis Richmond's eyes were, haha.

The dog looks like he's enjoying the lazy days of summer, Will.

Sorry about that Jim. We only had a high of 85 yesterday, and I think it's going to be slightly cooler today. I'd call it warmish, but not terrible. Of course it's all relative, and I think that 5150 would consider 85 outlandish.

Today's weather report:

Good morning heat lovers!

Mid 70s yesterday here in North Central Washington. They are saying 90s and windy on Sunday, I'm not looking forward to that.

I hope that everyone is keeping cool.

We are under a Heat Advisory here.

Siena. Does like laying in the cool grass in the evenings. She also was going nuts when the flock of Wild Turkeys came walking through (good bird dog)

Jim, BSA is doing like any other company and doing reorganization and consolidation. You are right about needing to improve PR though. Especially about the changes that have been instituted over the past 30 years for Youth Protection.

Covid really hurt the program, because the activities and events really are what bring the youth to the program.

I would love a torrential downpour right about now.

School is out for the summer. My brother in law was picking up my niece from a summer activity program. He told me some crazy story about how the daycare had to call the police and child protective services on a parent who kept dropping off her kid without lunch. Not so trivial. The parent is responsible for providing food. There is no free lunch. They are specifically made aware of this at enrollment. Apparently, every day for a couple of weeks, the program's staff has been telling this woman that her child must have a meal. Well, even with the police and CPS there, she was flippant, argumentative, and confrontational. As my brother in law said, "ghetto". I don't like that word as an adjective. But there really is no other way of describing that pattern of behavior.

Happy Saturday Nor Cal. Going to stay inside my man cave all day today. Away from all the heat. Tomorrow will be brutal though. Expected high is 105, and I am teaching a Sunday school class, then after services they are having a corn hole toss tournament with free hot dogs. Don't know how long I will be able to stay out in the heat, but it is expected to run from 11:30am until 2:30pm. I have three of my grandkids here, and I will be taking the two younger boys to church and the event.

They were okay, but not hot dogs. Some kind of sausage, that spit out grease when I took a bite. Still free food is free food.

Happy Monday Nor Cal. Already did my shopping before the 107 degree high got here. So I am going to stay indoors now.

104 at 6:21pm. That is too hot for me. Although, the high has already been reached and we are now on the downside.
