But wait. There's more. Order now, and they will include a cardboard box, free of charge, shipped right to your neighbor when the Post Office delivers to the wrong address.
The heat was overwhelming today. A real battle to stay hydrated. I drank a 6 pack, just driving around and getting stuff done. One of the best things I've ever bought was a "cooler backpack". It's a backpack, made like a soft cooler. Or it's a soft cooler, made like a backpack. It doesn't have to be expensive. Buy the least expensive one you can find. Just make sure that it's big enough for your appetite. I use it for trips to the grocery store, so that things like milk, ice cream, and meat stay cool for the trip back home. Or when you get hot food, like BBQ, or take-out from a restaurant, it keeps the food warm.
That is a good idea. I have two insulated bags from Winco. Basically, a thicker grocery bag that keeps items cool or warm. However, since I live half a mile from Walmart I don't use it much.
The dashboard display in my car said that the ambient temperature was 99. I thought it was broken. No way could the temp be 99 in San Francisco. The news report tonight said that the thermometer at SFO was up to 98. I didn't really notice with the air conditioning turned on. If you are driving in an air conditioned car, parking in underground garages, and going into climate controlled buildings.......you really don't know how hot it is on the sidewalk. You just enjoy the view of all the girls wearing next to nothing. I wonder if the girls are enjoying the view, of all the fat old guys like, in shorts with white socks pulled up to the knees.
The power went out yesterday around 5 at my house. Just went back on a few mins ago. PG&E had planned to turn off the power today at 9am for repairs. I hope they reschedule at this point.
I kept the AC on most the night last night. Turned it off at 4am. I checked the 10-day forecast and every day except one or two is going to be over 100. The two that aren't will be 98 and 99. I doubt I would notice the difference. I will be staying indoors for the next ten days. Went to the store this morning and spent $80 on food. That should last awhile. However, with three grand kids here, I doubt it.
105 for the next five days.... My AC is going to get a workout. I pray the power does not go out again.

Not quite as hot here in Anderson, but still triple digits. Camped out at the site of our District’s Cub Scout Day Camp running a station and providing overnight security. Going through water and pickle juice like crazy.
How is the Boy Scout Organization still in business after filing bankruptcy?
On another note, when will the Girl Scout Organization be forced by our courts to accept boys? Can't be discriminating now can we?
If the Girl Scouts have swimming, then they will have to abide by the new regulations for Trans swimmers. I don't know. But apparently, nobody else knows either. I just know that the girl scouts have a captive audience with those cookie sales. The Boy Scouts have to do a better job with marketing. Years ago, The Boy Scouts had a pretty good tie in, or so I thought, with The Boy Scout logo on Swiss Army Knives. I thought that for sure, we would see kids in scout uniforms, selling pocket knives on the street. Maybe Will can fill us in on how the Cub Scouts make their money. Maybe that's what I should do. Buy a wholesale lot of Swiss Army Knives, and get some kids to sell them on street corners.
It's no secret that I watch local TV channel 2. Not because their news department has won Emmy Awards. But because I get a kick out of how many drunks they have on live television. Over the years, with their different programs, they have had quite a few drunks on air. Even clips that were not live. They would air these "on air personalities" in a drunken state. They are a Fox affiliate. So maybe even the weather is "right wing" and conservative. While everyone else is complaining of heat and wildfires; I see fog and rain.
I am jealous of you guys who can have dogs. Growing up, we had dogs. Even living in apartments, people have dogs. As an adult, I realized, that a dog needs more space. Living in The City, the yards are too small. I just can't own a dog right now. My schedule is irregular. I never know when I'll be home, or if I'll get a call to go right back out again. It just wouldn't be fair to the dog. My cousin has a german shepherd. He is lucky enough that he gets to go to work with the dog. My brother in law has a pit bull, which gets a yard that is 4 times the size of my house. His house is the same size. Just with more yard space. They live just 5 minutes from The City, in San Bruno, up on the hill facing down @ SFO. But the yard is a hillside. So steep, that you can't really do anything with it. And it cost him quite a bit to reinforce the retaining wall every decade or so. The whole block worries about landslides and shifting foundations - and another PG&E gas line explosion. My last dog was a pit bull. I left the back door open. The dog had full run of the house and yard. And it was smart enough to not overeat. I could leave a 3 day supply of dog food out, and the dog only ate when hungry. I never worried about a burglar the entire time I owned a dog..
