4x4 Troubleshooting
Hello all - new to this so please forgive me if this is a repeat. I'm struggling with troubleshooting my 4x4. Have an 03 Excursion 7.3. Vacuum pump works - can hear it operating and the vents operate fine from air to defrost and back. It isn't the transmission shifter. Isn't the pulse vacuum actuator - just changed. When I lock the hubs, 4x4 works by using the switch. The 4x4 light on the dash doesn't illuminate ever. Without hubs locked, front wheels won't turn even though the transfer motor shifts. Just had both hubs rebuilt. Are there any other electrical components that I may be missing? Thx in advance!

In the 7.3L PSD Tech Folder you will find a pinpoint test specific to your 2003 4x4 system. Work your way through it and let us know what you find.

Note, the 2002 MY is the same as your 2003 with a VSM.
