My ‘14 ecoboost is having the dreaded wobble in the wheel/pedal again. I’ve replaced the front pads and rotors twice(it has 113k now) abs it’s to the point where it’s driving me crazy so I took it to my local shop. He said the temperature of the front right caliper is 530 degrees and the front left is 430 degrees. The rear calipers are 430 each. Says I need all new calipers, all new pads, all new rotors abs further diagnostics as the master cylinder abs abs pump may need replaced. After researching this common issue several times in the past and again it’s obvious I’m not the only one with the wobble problem. I can’t afford to have all this work done and not sure if anyone has run into this and what’s the best way to fix it. I read most people have switched to drilled rotors and the problem is gone but I can’t find any information on the temperature people are getting. It’s just hard for me to believe that the entire system needs replaced as almost every f150 owner has this same wobble issue. Any suggestions? Thanks!
I put PowerStop brand drilled/slotted rotors on the front of my truck at 13k miles, now have 26k miles on it and still smooth as silk when braking. Still running the oem pads.
At 78K miles I removed those POS factory rotors and tossed them in the trash where they belong. I installed autozone rotors and Motorcraft OE pads front and rear. At 112K miles which is 30K on the new brakes, no issues what so ever. I don't tow hardly at all and my truck isn't modified so no need for me to change from OE style brake components.
I have the Powerstop rotors and pads on all 4 corners, changed the out whenever the factory brakes wore out. Never had a wobble issue with the factory brakes . bought the truck with 30k miles on it no wobbling at all.
Hate to say but it sounds like you mechanic doesn't know what to do so just change everything. Can't say from here what shape the master cylinder is in but it won't cause a steering wheel wobble. Did the past rotor replacements cure it for a while? with one being hotter it may be warping the new ones fairly quick. May be a stuck caliper, if it was mine I would persue that first. I would find a mechanic to replace your parts changer, it will be cheaper in the long run. Does it only wobble when you brake or all the time, thats a different animal if it's constant. Jim

I'm assuming the numbers posted were for driving in a straight line after minimal braking. If true (and I may be misinterpreting), 430 is way too hot. So, something is causing all 4 brakes to drag.
If (another assumption) this has been going on for awhile, I could see the mechanic's POV that all 4 calipers are now toast from too much prolonged, constant heat. So, it would be necessary to get 4 new calipers that we know won't be sticky, then move on to finding the root cause of the problem.
I'm not saying anyone in this thread is right or wrong. I'm not saying "the mechanic" is right or wrong. I just know for me it's easy to keyboard quarterback but I should give the mechanic the benefit of the doubt as I haven't met him or laid hands -- much less eyes -- on the vehicle in question
Check the right side and make sure the pads are in Correctly and get a cheap heat gun from Amazon and check the brakes yourself. Sound like someone was dragging the brakes to warm them up.
