Still working on that piece of beef. 2" ribeye steak, sliced into bite sized pieces. Mashed potato with bacon. Tomato, onion, and cilantro salad. A steak that size can easily serve 4 or more.
I don't have a rain gauge. But the 5 gallon buckets in my yard are full. That means that I'll have rainwater for plants for the next few months.
I still have more than half of that prime rib. Running out of ideas though. I cut some off and minced it with a knife. Then made burgers. I also cut up some potato for hash browns, cooked in the beef fat. No wonder people gain weight for te holidays. I'm going to need new pants.
I saw that last night. Two more days of rain on the schedule for this week (Tuesday and Wednesday). It seems possible that you might end up around 16" by the end of the year.
For Christmas we saved some money by getting a Whole New York Strip and roasted it like you would do a Standing Rib Roast. Very good and plenty of leftovers for both families.
Roasting the New York Strip Today’s lunch. Raw Sauerkraut, sautéed baby portobello mushrooms, jalapeño, and garlic sourdough toast.
Between Christmas Day and Yesterday we received about 1-3/4” of rain. Also you could only go South from here since ALL of the mountain roads surrounding us were closed due to conditions.
