I wait for avocados to get to < 2 for $5, (3 for $5 is OK, but sometimes they are 4 for $5). Then I will get $5 worth, and we can make avocado toast for a couple of days. I love a little smooshed avocado on top of toasted sourdough and topped with a fried egg. Perfect breakfast for me.
That doesn't really work out most of the time. The seed will sprout. Sometimes you get fruit, and it's nothing like the fruit that the seed came from. Sometimes you get a tree with no fruit at all.

When we travel down to Gilroy and points east of there, we always try to grab some avos at one of those roadside stands where you can get them fresh off the tree 5 for a $1.
What year was that price? I would think that today's farm stand price would be closer to $1 for 1. If you can really get avocados for 20 cents, I am going there with a tractor trailer truck.
