Grr.... Some people have no respect
I have had my '53 on the road as a daily driver since '08, 100K miles, no accidents or major breakdowns.
I walked by the rear of my truck this morning and this is what I see. Evidently someone hit my truck in the Wal Mart parking lot last night and just drove away.
No major damage, but it's just the idea that they drove away! 🤬
Guess I should have kept that wrap around section of the rear bumper.

Two weeks after I had my truck on the road I came out of a store and saw a woman and her son standing behind my truck. As I approached the truck she asked if it was mine and that she had hit it as she pulled into her spot next to it. I was a bit upset at first but when I got around to the side she hit I saw she put two scratches in the rear bumper that I purposely built to project the rear fenders. I looked at her relatively new truck with it's fiberglass ground effects panels and multicolor paint job and saw she has ripped up the fiberglass parts and scratched up the paint pretty good. She gave me her personal information and asked me to get an estimate for the damage. She left and I went back in the store, got a can of spray paint and touched up the scratches while still in the parking lot. I figured she would pay for it when she got home and her husband saw the damage to their truck. I was glad I built that bumper.
My wife tries to park at the end of the row all of the times, she still comes home with dings.

Glad she's okay, for the most part. Still VERY irritating.
People do suck. And most young or generally clueless drivers around here have no respect or appreciation whatsoever for classic or vintage vehicles. We are just slowing them down and taking up space. I'm just waiting for someone to drive into me. I have people riding on my rear all the time, pulling right up to me at stoplights/stop signs not realizing I roll backward on hills.
And I shop in fear everytime I leave my truck in a parking lot.

In my area its not unusual for people to have car damage in the Wal-Mart lot. I don't know why but it seems some of their clientele doesn't have any respect for others property.
My sons pick-up got damaged by a hit and run driver there. Luckily he was walking to his truck at the time, there were witnesses to the event, and it didn't do so much damage that he couldn't drive it and chase the guy home. The police came, couldn't get the guy to answer his door. The next day the police came back with Security cameras video and the hit and run driver produced his insurance card which suprising enough, was a policy that was active. His insurance paid for my son's repairs. The hit and run driver was never charged.
