I've owned new Ford, Toyota, Chevrolet and GMC's over the years. All have been flawless except the last GMC (2019) and this Ford. The GMC had an issue with the front axle where it would make a metallic sound similar to dragging a tow chain. In the nearly three years I owned it, GM never could fix that AAM axle and continued to crank out trucks with the same axle configuration. Customer service will tell you it doesn't affect the vehicle's operation and continue to kick the can. At least GM's customer service will pick up the phone and blow smoke..Ford's customer service is abysmal, incompetent and absolutely useless.
Same exact issue with my GMC. All of them have it.…Horrendous…Sounds there is absolutely no floor panel, where tire and road noise comes straight into the cab., all coming through the left firewall and floor to the where the sound could never be pinpointed.
Doesn’t bother me because I know how to fix it…Just turn up the stereo.
Next plow truck will be another Ford.
People are also whining about Fords slight surface rust on drive line parts. LOL.. Check out a whole GM frame sometime..
Fortunately, I don't have this recall om my 2019. If I did I would be filing a BBB Autoline claim if I had a long interval to get it fixed or the run around like the OP. Ford subscribes to the BBB Autoline program as mentioned in the owners manual. While I have no experience using this with Ford, GM also subscribes to this program and I did file a claim with them for slipping torque converter which GM said was normal and wouldn't authorize a repair to the dealer. Within 2 days of filing a claim I had the dealer and GM calling me to take it back in and they fixed it. I think Ford would jump on it too. They don't want to go to arbitration and you can drop the claim at any time if you want to. A claim can be filed online and you can ask for a repair or they buy it back or anything else like compensation.. The BBB will assign a case manager and keep you updated. I was told for my GM I was not eligible for a buy back because my state lemon laws are for the first year of ownership only but they were going to proceed with the repair request. You can also ask for reimbursements for travel etc. if you have to travel to a dealer that can fix it. Filing a claim is not hard and as I said, just drop it if Ford comes through. This may also move you to a priority to get parts if needed. As they say, the squeaky wheel.....................
So between the two axles, Ford saved 20 lbs? And $5 added to the axle cost? Now how much will it cost them?
Exactly. I blame both Dana and Ford. They both should have highly knowledgeable and experienced engineers and this is what they allowed to be produced. This doesn't seem to be real high level engineering. Maybe I'm wrong.

I have LOTS of experience using BBB Autoline. In fact my F350 2020 with the defective axle is a buyback replacement truck after successfully filing with BBB on my 2019 F350.
I also filed with BBB Autoline on my 2019 Nissan last year. Nissan sent me a large check for my “ inconvenience” after they finally fixed my car. Then I filed again on the Nissan when it acted up again but before the case was resolved the car was totaled by an uninsured, suspended licensed driver with a meth pipe in the car. She hit and ran but was caught 5 miles away after 2 good samaritans followed her and dialed 911.
I have already opened up a case with Ford and documented 2 calls to Ford. Tomorrow I call again and give them the third attempt to find a shop to do the repair.
Right now there is no damage to the axle so there’s no grounds for Lemon Law. If the axle were damaged the truck would be considered unsafe to drive and then the clock would start for Lemon Law. Florida has a 2 year window to file LL.

I know a few that work for Ford. Not high on the IQ list. Dad's worked either, they work there...... Ford's also run it like a family, not a business. Just like the Detroit
lions.
LOL. Let me translate: OP gets bored of things very quickly and needed an excuse to jump to something different. Let's call it what it is, seriously. This is OPs 4th truck in 4 years. Doth protests too much, methinks.
Not saying there is anything wrong with a new car every year, but let's not wave our arms in disgust and stomp out of the room (figuratively), when an acorn dropping on the hood from the a tree in your yard would have elicited a sale of your truck. I suspect, you'll find something wrong with the GM in about 12-18 months and rinse/repeat.
Respect your opinion here, but this is not the reason behind sending the 2021 F350 down the road. This was actually my dream truck, that I spent years working to purchase.
I traded in the ram because it left us stranded 1000 miles from home on a camping trip (with the air bag system fully f'ed)
I sold the Chevy 3500 because we needed a fifth wheel setup, and yes I could've spent the money setting that truck up, but I actually wanted the Ford. I've spent 30 years wanting a red F350. For the record, I have no truck in the driveway right now and probably won't for months... Which means we cannot travel for my job, and I am turning down work as a result.
I have done things out of boredom before. This was not one of those things.

update:
After my 3rd call to Ford Customer Service they were able o find a dealership that is familiar, willing, able to do the recall and they have done several of these recalls. It Ford Customer Service calling over 12 dealerships to find one to do the recall. .
So I have an appointment with Matthews-Currie Ford in Venice Florida next Thursday. They will inspect the truck while I wait and depending on inspection results will order parts necessary to complete the recall. They will set up a visit appointment to drop the truck off after identifying if weld or axle replacement is required.
After I personally inspected it with a feeler gauge I am confident that it will pass the feeler gauge test and only need the weld repair.
If part availability for the repair is expected to take several months to complete I will file Lemon Law, BBB Autoline and order a 2022 with X-Plan plus DAV bonus $1,000 cash. That would make it my 7th new F-Series truck in 6 years.
