Tundra is absolute shat. I had the unfortunate experience of owning one for 5 of the longest, most boring years of my life. I mean its cool if you want a little car that doesnt break down. But if you actually need to do work, or want to drive something not in the stone ages, forget it. A family member brought home a King Ranch, my tundra was gone weeks later.

Well, that issue sounds frustrating and 100% fords fault for not addressing it better. I dont blame OP for bailing on ford but the other 2 are crap.

with all the 2020 and 2021 debacles we dont have a good option for 3/4 and up trucks.

really makes me second guess my 2022 order. Why get rid of a high mileage 2019 to go with who knows what issues.

Best of luck with your new truck. I hope it works out great for you.

It's discussions like this one that reinforce my confidence in choosing to go with a 2017 instead of a '21 or '22.

I think 17-19 will go down as one of the best gens. I’m going to resist the market and keep mine when my 2022 comes in….probably will need it.

For what we're paying for these trucks, they sure have a lot of problems. Too many import components with no supervision during manufacture of components.

And UAW...... those *******s.

And this is coming from a die hard GM guy, i waited till 2020 to make my choice between Ford and Chevy and they released that hideous truck I bought a Ford! Dodge don’t even get me started

Thanks all for the responses! I agree the new Chevy HD has a face only a mother could love. The high country trim ain't bad... My wife actually saw a GMC 3500 on the lot and said "that looks good" so off we go! I had a 2020 Silverado 3500 SRW. Not a bad truck, just wanted the tax write off on the new business and was really looking for the puck fifth wheel system (the Chevy didn't have it)

I had a 2018 Ram, the Cummins was a great engine, the rest of the truck sucked. Ram actually did a similar B.S. recall repair on that truck and welded the steering drag link adjustment nuts together. So the steering wheel couldn't be centered anymore. Guys I knew where buying aftermarket drag links and paying to have them swapped and getting FCA to pick up the tab.

I debated sourcing a professional axle repair on the F350 - just couldn't justify the hassle.

The rose colored glasses came off my face years ago - I totally get all three of the American manufacturers have their share of problems. It's a crap shoot. These trucks cost more than my parents first home, but that's life. My wife says I am a constant optimist- I always think the next thing will work great and be problem free...

Fortunately for me, my truck isn’t part of the axle recall.
IMO. Just no way I could muster up the will to wax something that disfigured.

I’ve always owned both a Ford and GM. I’ll be trading off the GM for a Ram.

Once again the result of living in a Covid world! I hate your experience has been this way and that is whether it is with Ford, Chevy or Dodge. We have to put Covid in the rear view or this country is going to totally collapse. Stop funding sitting at home and make people re-enter the work force! There, that is as political as I will get.

Good luck and hate to see you go.

You have to be, otherwise you would go insane and be a drag on others. Hey, I am not going to be one of those fanboys here. I wish you luck with whatever truck brand you get. I looked at others prior to my F-250 but the Ford seemed to be a better truck after researching. But when I bought this whole mess hadn’t hit quite yet. Maybe it was timing and luck.

Hopefully Ford gets their stuff fixed……don’t even go to the Bronco site to see what is happening with those right now! Totally uncalled for by Ford.

GMC has the better front end to it, I could own one if I needed too.

It should be find. Different but fine.

My sister has one, not new but I think 2018, tows fine, but not something I would overload or have at its limits.

Reading these posts, I wonder if brand loyalty is going away. Men used to define themselves in part by the brand of truck they always bought. I’m losing brand loyalty myself over the years, but mostly because the prices are insane. For what we pay for vehicles, the damn things better work “as expected” every time for years or else I’m jumping ship to a competitor. This expectation may be unrealistic (it’s still just a machine), but so are the prices.
