I haven't really ever had a delayed start with my truck (usually about 2 seconds), but a few times lately I felt that the cranking speed was dropping off right before the engine started. Since it is almost hunting season, I decided to finally change out the original starter - after almost 233k miles.
I had bought a 6.4L starter several years ago, just because I figured it was getting close to needing it.
I can't recall the cranking rpms before, but am guessing they were around 180 rpm. Now I am getting a solid 215-220 with this starter.
I guess I would say it fires off a little more quickly, but definitely no drop in cranking rpms detected after 5 seconds of cranking (FICM relay removed).
Are you seeing a lot of the Eurasian Ring Necked Doves there? They have all but pushed our native Dove species out of existence. So much so, it is year round open season on those non-native invasive species. B.
Not seeing a large number of them, but we usually see a few every time we hunt. I have heard that they tend to compete very well against mourning doves. I am not sure if they have any natural advantage over the white wings though.
It is nice to get a few that don't go against the limit, and they sure are a nice size, but I hate to hear what they are doing in some areas.
They are voracious eaters. Almost twice the size of our Mourning Doves. Nearly the size of a Pigeon. As such we see almost an equal number of each. But the Eurasians are here year round. Which gives them an advantage in breeding numbers. B.
