Hello everyone my 1975 ford f250 headlights have been flickering both at the same time and I think its that pull switch on the dash and want to remove it to replace it. How do you remove this switch I know how to remove the whole **** by pushing in the button and pulling it how but how do you get the switch itself out. Can you get it out from under the dash or do you have to remove the dash cluster? Thanks any help is appreciated.
Yes you have the headlight **** and internal shaft removal correct. Disconnect battery and pull the ****/shaft out. Unplug the elec connector on the back side.
As far as getting to the small nut (#11650) that is threaded on the switch body (that comes thru the dash) you have to get BEHIND the trim bezel (#044D70). Normally you have to completely remove the trim bezel (# 044D70). NO you do not have to pull the instrument cluster itself. it is separately installed.
BUT you might be able to get behind the bezel to access the nut. If you remove the screw that is on the flat panel (between the *****) and then the very top screw, (straight up from the headlight and wiper switch *****) then remove the wiper switch **** (spring tension clip on the back side).
It might (but probably not), flex just enough to get to it. And I seem to remember it is not a normal wrench nut, but a 3 notched deal of some sort.
Here are 2 complete walk thrus to get the trim rim completely off. It's not that bad.

Thanks for the help just ordered a new one from auto zone and I did have to remove the trim to get the the nut but it wasnt to hard at all hardest part was figuring out the windshield wiper ****
Also just keep in mind. Possibility of being a bad high beam switch on the floor board. I had a 1966 GTO and the high beam switch developed poor connection internally and caused the headlights to act up erratically. Figured it out on a five hour trip to W.V.
