I have a 74 F-250. I am trying to remove the instrument panel bezel and came across a problem:
I can't seem to get the headlamp switch **** off. It is mounted THRU the instrument bezel and the washer switch next to it pulls right off, no problem. But, you must remove the **** on the light switch to get the bezel off.
I don't want to reef on it and break it. Is there some secret?
On the part of the headlight switch that is behind the actual plastic bezel and metal dash, there is a plastic 'pin', if you will, that you will need to depress. It is about the size of an aspirin pill. Just push it down and pull out the **** (with the stem coming with it). You can get to the pin by way of reaching up under the dash and on top of the headlight switch, but it is hard. I get to mine a lot easier by just taking out every screw and tweaking the plastic bezel until I can reach in behind it and press down on the pin. I'll see if I can find a picture of the thing you need to press and I'll update this post for you.
