I have a 2005 diesel excursion 6.0 with 291000. Brought it to a mechanic who replaced the starter after about a year ago after it started having a no start condition. The said it was fixed but after driving it a few feet I knew it wasnt right. They were not able to get it started. Brought it to another mechanic. He found a hole in the fuel cap with it sucking air. He got it running again. I picked it up and it started but cranked too long. Once I got it home it would not start again. Crank but no start. No check engine issue. Where do I start?

 

Well, Lets start by using a scanner and pulling DTC's. It could be anything and without that the codes we are shooting in the dark. B.

 

Watch this. Get a monitoring tool. Forscan app for a smartphone is great. Then a wireless adapter to plug into the obd2 port so your phone can talk to the truck. Post back with the numbers.
