My 2005 was having classic ficm hard start cold weather issues. Changed ficm power supply and it was fine for 6 weeks. Now its doing the same thing in warmer conditions. I think its the ficm again. The batteries are fine. My battery light goes on every so often only because the voltage is slightly high. Could this be a source of ficm failure? Any recommendations of FICM powersuppy replacement that wont fail.
Yes will do. I have an ocdii reader built in and will do the code review. I know the battery light is because of high voltage by using torque pro in real time.
How high does it actually get? I see 15 volts at times and I don't get the battery light.
IIRC there is something in the manual about the point at which you get a light from HIGH battery voltage, but I can't recall the value.
The alternator issues may be causing FICM issues. I would test that alternator. Who knows, it could be putting out some A/C current.
If you do end up deciding that the FICM power supply has issues, I would send it in to get repaired and upgraded - I would use FICMRepair.com , or CircuitBoardMedics.com. I prefer FICMrepair.com.
