I forgot the 350 was a DRW setup and why the 150 rear axle so the 150 bed would bolt on.
Dave would the 150 front suspension bolt onto the 350 frame?
I guess it would as it is the same just thicker metal.
What springs to use? 150 or 350 springs? Guessing 150 or it would ride too ruff and sit like it had a lift kit.
If so then I dont think it would be that much work to do a cab / bed swap and front & rear axles.
Then again I did a 4 year cab off frame rebuild of my F100 flare side

yea, I might just pass on it then and look for a trans that would tow more. I thought the 350 frame would give me a little more towing capacity but I guess since my 150 frame is in decent condition and the 150 axle and hubs would give it 150 capacity it wouldn't make much difference

You may want to start a new post on what your 150 has for a motor, trans and and rear gear. Year may also help too.
You said something about towing in a post you may want to add what it is you want to tow.
And why you want to change out the transmission.
BTW I built my F100 as a back up to pull my open deck 20' car trailer when needed.

Yea i might, i had a pretty good plan i was confident with, this just popped up and got me thinking again
I bought 4 steel rims and tires from a guy who had the same 86 6.9l diesel truck with the 10.25 rear end as my truck. He said he was going to convert from a SRW to a DRW. The reason he was selling the original wheels to me. I was told he was going to use the same rear end, the 10.25

Trust but verify they say...
He will find out it will not work. The DRW rearends are 4 inches wider than the SRW rearends. They do bolt to the springs in the same spot (except the chassis cab DRW rearends). When you put that first DRW wheel on backwards, it will hit the frame unless the flange is out away from the frame more than the SRW rearend flange. I think they do make spacers to make it work, but they are not cheap.
