you check the 42 pin harness where it can rub the valve cover and eventually rub thru wire and short?

Not reading the PCM may be as simple as the fuse for the power port, fuel bowl heater and PCM being blown. Check it for continuity or replace it.

Is your fuel bowl heater unplugged by chance?

I am really hoping you don't have a bent pin or a burnt connection, but you are doing the right thing by removing it to inspect it. Use some dielectric grease or something around the outer seal in order to allow for easy installation. Make sure the bolt is tight, not angry gorilla tight, just snugged up.

Let us know what you find while you are giving the PCM and harness a shakedown.

Lastly, you can hold your beer while you leap off the high dive as long as it is a can and not a bottle...

You are quite lucky sir! Well done on getting it sorted out in short order and on your tight timeline.

This is a great community that will watch you jump off the high dive with a beer in your hand if you want us to. But, we will also be there for you when you belly flop and need a hand getting out of the pool.

I'm a bit OT here, but -
"2002 F250 crewcab longbed 4x4
finally named her Vivian!"

Pat Brady's 46 jeep was Nellybelle.
I never named a truck before, but I am considering naming mine Jezebel!

Glad you figured it out!

So just to be clear, you didn’t have the PCM harness plugged in all the way?
Sounds like you got really lucky!
