spray it, make it look good from 20 and be happy. maybe a 800-1000 wet sand is what I'm saying if that...
If you feel like you want to take it that high, than by all means.
Don't take me the wrong way, I am a fan of the rustoleum. I just wouldn't go that crazy.
Don't go so fast that you get a dusty coat or it will take forever to sand.Have plenty of light. Coats should be wet and shiny.Use the light and follow the reflection from the coat as you spray but don't linger or it will sag.I would start with 1000,go to 12,then 15.Don't use petroleum based buffing compounds. Sprayer work OK for you?
The sprayer worked well except it had a small leak on the front of the pressure pot. I had to cover it up with a bag while I painted or else paint would flow down the side and occasionally drip off.
The compound and polish that I will use is the Meguiars Ultimate Compound and the Meguiars Ultimate Polish. I looked on the bottles and it did not say if it had petroleum or not. I couldnt find the safety data sheets for them either online. Anyone mind trying to find out for me?
if its rustolium you might need to wait longer than that to let the paint get good and dry before wet sanding. gonna be a nice first car plus doing the work on it yourself you will appreciate it more
