Ok, I'm going to try to paint a fiberglass component with some urethane paint. I'm NOT a painter but want to try it anyway. I have done some painting but not much.
The paint called for is:
white pearl urethane
pearl base urethane
clear coat urethane
Would anyone have any ideas on how to apply this correctly?
Anything to watch out for?
Does the base go on first or second?
The basecoat always goes first, it will most likely be a cloud white or a bright white, something along those lines. The pearl coat or midcoat as it's often called goes next, it'll look like milk in the can with a nice pearl tint to it, make sure when applying it you use light coats since it's transparent and a bit harder to see just how much you're laying down. After you get the pearl effect you want, then you'll apply the clearcoat.
Good luck and if you have any more questions, feel free to ask.
Thanks for the info.
How much TIME should go by between each coat?
Actually, it's some motorcycle saddle bags that I'm painting.
How much total paint should it take to paint these......not more than a pint.....wouldn't you say?
