Looking at purchasing the IPR air test fitting. Buying now so I have it when/if I run into HPOP issues.
I looked thru the tech folder and did a search and don't see a recent thread about the IPR test fitting. There are a few options for purchase that vary widely in price so I wanted to find out what everyone has been using.
Amazon Sells one for $10 that is just the fitting with a NPT thread. This looks like it should work but for $10 it scares me.
I have the amazon socket and it worked perfect....don't let it spook you. I actually ground the shet outta mine because the Odawg intake is way bigger than stock and it would not clear the intake to get it on the valve. It still performed flawless.
The amazon fitting has the appearance of tool steel (color) and I am guessing based on reviews, it will serve it's purpose. You can make your own line setup like the accurate diesel for cheaper.
I bought mine on Amazon and have used it with no problem. There are many venders on there, so as Mark said you could be rolling the dice if you pic the wrong vender.
Big price difference. I paid 20 something for mine.
Your call.
The biggest complaint I read on the adapter was the standard 1'4" NPT would not fit. I am certain with a set of thread pitch gauges, one could find out what the TPI is and go that route.
Aside from that, it looks like a nice inexpensive piece for a ONE time use.
I got the the socket and the three test fittings. had to put a hose clamp on socket to keep it from spreading open, IPR fitting didnt fit anything male or female threads worth a crap. Only decent part was the ICP test fitting.
HHC didn't have an IPR test fitting? Just the nipple cups & special tool?
Call and ask about it. They had the one that goes in place of the IPR. It may that
it has been dropped do to the flood of Made In China crap. I find it always
best to call if I don't see something.
$60 for a fitting? (talk about getting bent the pluck over, gouged).
I'll spend money on hydraulic stuff (for off road mainly) -- just dropped $1400 on a Hedland flow meter, but these fittings are overpriced --- the $10 ones work just fine (have used them)
