I checked the UPS site today and my claim has been approved. I am now just waiting for Newegg to finish the processing, and send me another laptop. As soon as I get the tracking number, I am going to check the UPS site to make sure it gets sent to the UPS access point.

And I am going to request a full refund on the shipping charges, since it obviously did not get to me in one day.

Several options are available for UPS. I usually have the package held at the UPS hub. For me, the hub is right by the airport, and convenient. It doesn't go anywhere else. It gets to the hub, and doesn't go on a truck. It just sits at the warehouse until I go get it. In the old days, the package would go on the truck for 3 delivery attempts, when I am not home, then I can pick it up at the hub.

Good news that the computer is soon to be replaced. Soon you will be gaming until you you fall asleep at the keyboard.

We are in the midst of an inversion. It's not as hot as the central valley (by a lot), but not as cool as SF. Overnight lows have been around 70, but the highs top out at about 85. Here's the high/low/average temp for the last 30 days from our weather station.
