So I'm not gonna lie, I was under the impression that it was gonna be the same model, just a different powertrain, but they seem to be treating it as a completely separate model.

With that said, I hate the interior. IMO Ford botched it hard. I don't like having just a big screen(they couldn't at least make it landscape? It looks so bad in portrait, like the Explorer), I need physical buttons, as much as I love the 12" in my dads F150. Like jeez, literally all they had to do was take the interior from the current model, and plop it in the Lightning.
Sorry for being a downer, but that was always my biggest complaint with Tesla, with the Mach E, and now with this Lightning. I need more than just one massive screen, let alone preferably one that doesn't look like they just threw an iPad Pro on the dash and called it a day. I expected better Ford...

As for the exterior, not enamored by it, but don't dislike it. It's pleasant to look at. That's all I got for that.

***NOTE*** This is based on what I'm seeing as I'm watching the reveal(I have it paused as I'm typing- suck at multitasking lol. I know knew information may become available later in the stream

It's all in the wording… Did you notice how she mentioned they include a large LCD instrument cluster and that you "can get" a 15.5-inch screen? The truck also starts at $40K meaning the base model is likely going to be akin to an XL trim without all those fancy bells and whistles.

That's good to hear- no I'd missed that. I'd been pausing, rewinding, etc. One thing I am excited about though is having power in the frunk- that'll be awesome to have

Just reserved mine.

From what I've read thus far, this truck will be just like the entire line of trims, priced based accordingly as such. I'm not looking for a Platinum model as I mentioned, just a simple XLT version will do so I'm guessing based on a lack of interest or the exact opposite of the Raptors popularity to keep these prices down on pretty much all trim levels.

The lack of infrastructure (charging network) and charging times ?!?!? don't recall hearing them state just how long it would take to charge from any level of vehicle battery capacity to full charge other than the overnight statement. My commute is 3.4 miles round trip so it's not a concern for me but someone towing across country it will be.

that’s for the base-base model that only fleet operators will buy. Something in xlt trim and super or crew cab will probably be close to 60k

Ah, what the heck. Reserved mine, too. Won’t be my long distance vehicle, but as a daily driver, I’m in. Ford will deliver. Not promise like that ugly faceted box by the hooligan. This will deliver, and it’ll be a blast to drive.

Figure out how to make it a Regular Cab Short Bed like the old Lightnings and I would cancel my Bronco order...

same. If they offer a RCSB in XL trim I’m buying one just to commute with.

I'm not a fan of the slow charge time even on 240 volt. Something like 15 hours from 15% to 100%? Really that slow? Should be half that or at least not more than 10 hours tops. $52k or so starting for an XLT if I recall correctly. Hopefully by production they can maybe get a larger pack for more than 300 miles. See Tesla, this is how you design a truck...not a 4yo drawing that looks like a roof truss on wheels.

I have my doubts that the semi-conductor shortage will be fully resolved by production, probably won't be until Fall/Winter 2022 before it gets back to normal on that.

The bigger screen is only for the higher trim models.
XLT models will have the current / new 12 inch screen which is in landscape mode.
