That 300 mile conservative spec is with 1000lb of cargo onboard. I don't know many people that drive around with half a ton of anything. Also who cares what anyone else thinks what you do with a generator. You would be fulfilling a need.

I do like how Ford is offering an 8 year 100K mile powertrain warranty on these. Sucks for some contractors who could go through that mileage in just a couple years. I guess with the partial acquisition of Rivian, a lot of the cost is being divided so they are not into it deep with R&D. It's also interesting that they added weight sensors into it for weight and load distribution. In my mind, just more crap to go wrong in a couple months to a couple years. Though I wonder, since they are going complete Independent suspension, if air bags will ever be an option?

No need to make it anymore complicated by adding an airbag system which is not really needed or wanted.
As you said….“ In your mind, just more crap to go wrong in a couple of months to a couple of years“.

Far cheaper to replace a load sensor than an air bag or two or it’s accompanying parts.

This isn’t a Lightning exclusive.

I think it’s a fantastic idea. It’s easy to overload a truck, and this gives the driver some awareness of what he’s carrying. Sure it’s something else that can go wrong, bu the Lariat trims already had the position sensors for headlamp leveling. And if they fail, the truck would still work just fine.
