So.... An "oddity" or Glow Shift is pulling my leg?
Truck is running great by the way. But, the Glow Shift HPOP gauge on the low end runs about 150-250'ish PSI on the lower side when compared to my OBD2 code reader. At warm idle my OBD2 code reader is steady at 580 PSI. Which, IIRC, historically is where it has always been. While the Glow Shift gauge is showing 400 PSI. I called Glow Shift about this. They told me that is normal, as their gauge is pulling the signal directly from the ICP sensor and NOT being run through the PCM algorithm. IDK. Sounds odd to me. What do you guys think? B.
Ford published a table of sensor voltage vs pressure. Granted - the actual data from an engine doesn't always seem to match up with the published table, but I think that it is just a data acquisition "timing" issue. To me that doesn't match up with the algorithm explanation. Maybe I am missing something though.
LOL, you guys are prolly right. Drive it and forget it. It's like the coolant pressure, EGT and fuel pressure. With the new gauges and the new engine, everything now is about setting a base line. Since I did not have the gauges before the rebuild. It's like breaking in a new set of driving gloves. I just have to get used to everything. B.
