Hey everybody I'm getting codes P1744 and P0720 I know it's for the TCC Solenoid and the Speed sensor, along with those codes I can't get the transmission to shift out of park. Fluid is good changed ever 4,500-5,500 miles Mercon SP and oem filter. Question is could either of those codes make it to where it won't shift out of park? Linkage is fine, engine realizes it is being shifted but the transmission won't actually shift. Was driving just fine yesterday.
No code can prevent a trans from shifting out of park. IT has to be something mechanical.
I just knew that solenoid controls the torque converter clutch so I didnt know if that solenoid being back could keep it from shifting into gear. Tbh I don't know that it's stuck completely in park I just know that no matter what gear I out it into it will not move when I hit the throttle. It'll rev the engine but won't move.
That could be a lot different that stuck in park. With the shifting in park and the engine idling, check the trans fluid level.
If the level is good, chock the wheels and set the parking brake. While someone moves the shifter to each position, someone needs to be under the truck to see if the lever on the side of the trans moves each time.
If it is a 4x4 check to see if the transfer case is in neutral.
There are seven solenoids inside the trans. They control the torque converter, what gear the trans is in, and line pressure.

We did that the linkage is fine and moves how it should.
how do I check if the transfer case is in neutral?
fluid level is good.
The only solenoid code I have is for the Torque Convert Clutch solenoid. Would that solenoid being bad cause the issue?
